do not call it persecution,
unless your bones have been broke,
or your dignity forsaken.

I have listened the last few weeks to “conservative” radio. Something that has been eating me is a loss of understand of persecution. Two conservative personalities both professing Christians have been playing the persecution card and screaming they have been treated unfairly. We apparently now live in a society that does not know true persecution. Jesus said true disciples will face it. Why do we not get this?

Jesus words in John 15:18-19. “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”
