poetry: Heat & Light

Fire produces both heat & light,
both effect differently the cold dark night.
Light makes shadows flee,
they hide behind a forsaken tree.

Heat delivers more danger than light,
it seduces the weak to come dance in the night.
Life and death dance in its embers flame,
that which mortal hands cannot truly tame,
the immortal flame temps the wise and fool the same.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light,
be wise and let your light shine,
it can open even the eyes of the blind.
Do not go gently in to that good night,
do not confuse heat with light.
