The following comments get the best of spam awards for July 2010. I have been using word karma for WordPress and it has really kept the spam down to a minimum. Occasionally a few slip through and you get my favorite spam.:
The spam messages are in the blockquotes and are untouched minus my comments in (). Commentary below them.
What do you think of preium (sic.) denim “like Prps (sic.) and Evisu?”
The spelling on this one is not just wrong but atrocious. Not only is the word premium butchered but also one of the two types of jeans they are trying to promote. If you are going to spam viral marketing to pad your keywords for Google bots, etc at least user proper grammar. My opinion on both types of jeans is that they are over priced products that employee the worst form of viral marketing for people whose genes make them rather narcissistic enough to buy them.
omg! (seriously who says this other than middle and high schoolers?) i clueless.. will someone tell me how to get this page saved in my iphone touch so my brother can take a look at it?
This piece of viral marketing takes the proverbial prize because it lacks basic grammar. Where is “am” between I (which should be capitalized) and clueless. What is sneaky about this one is that it used a valid email for authentication. If approved it could have easily lead to a massive spam attack. The problem is a lot of people would likely have approved the comment. I’m not sure which is sadder that people act dumb enough to speak that way or that there must be people who actually do speak that way.
Alright I’m done with my rant on spam.
What was the worst spam you’ve seen?
