My daughters 3rd birthday party was today. I can close my eyes and still see her being put in to my hands for the first time. Being a dad to my daughter is a some blessing.

This I know
I know my plans for you. Plans to prosper you. My ways are not your ways. There is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to destruction. Trust in the Lord that your way may be established. The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established. The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble. -God, various verses.
Does God have an iPad?
My near 3 yr old loves using the evangecube as part of her bedtime routine. Since she’s been sick she has been getting extra cuddle time at night and she’s been picking the cube for her third story. It is a little cube that opens up to tell the meta narrative story of Jesus. I got one years ago and it sat in a box for years. I haven’t found them particularly good for adults but my daughter loves it. Continue reading

Baptism
We baptized my kids today. I preached the service. I was quite sick but still made it. Thankfully I only knocked in to the baptismal font after their baptism.
I went to take the lectern off the stage and put it between the baptismal and Communion table. A great picture of baptism, word, and communion table as the three sacraments. I attempted to one handedly move the baptismal. This was a mistake. There was in that little bowl enough water to baptize the crowd that showed up at the Pentecost in Acts 2. I suggested that it may have been a movement of the Spirit. I figure God has a terrific sense of humor. He made me after all.
Did I mention I was sick? I’m blaming it on that.

My son thinks every night should be a repeat of him waking, me and Olivia getting up every couple hours to go get him back to sleep. Everytime I think its over he wakes again. At least Bill Murray got to bust a clock.
